Hi, I’m Karima Gulick
Registered patent lawyer based in Orange County, Los Angeles, California. While my roots are in sunny SoCal, I’m passionate about assisting small and mid-size businesses all across the United States in securing patents and trademarks across various industries.
With over a decade of engineering experience, I offer a unique perspective on intellectual property issues. From trademarks to copyrights and patents, I’ve got you covered. I’m committed to providing personalized attention to each client, understanding their goals and budgets.
Before law, I spent eight years in engineering, working on aircraft controls and software. Fluent in French, English, Arabic, and Spanish, I’m here to assist in multiple languages. Let’s protect your ideas together!

Hsiang Cheng – Registered Patent Attorney
Hsiang is a Registered Patent Attorney at Innovent Law, where he prepares and prosecutes U.S., International, and Foreign patent applications. Hsiang provides strategic and technical consultation, including harvesting valuable invention for application, preparing patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses, and developing strategies with clients to target competitor products. Hsiang also coordinates with patent firms across the globe to obtain robust worldwide patent protection.
Hsiang has over 10 years of experience on patent prosecution and portfolio management for a broad range of technologies, including software-based technologies, electronics, semiconductors, telecommunications, flat panel displays, medical injection devices, consumer products and appliances, and many others. Hsiang also helps clients register and protect their trademarks, including filing of trademark applications and overturning Office Actions by USPTO examining attorney.
Hsiang appreciates the opportunity to serve our clients, listen to their concerns, and advise them of their options regarding all facets of intellectual property protection.
Hsiang is also fluent in Mandarin.
Alphyll Achary – Intellectual Property Paralegal
Alphyll has earned her Master’s degree in International Intellectual Property Rights from Texas A&M University School of Law. Alphyll holds a Bachelor of Laws in Legal Science & Legislative Law from University of Mumbai, India. She previously worked with various law firms and attorneys in India.
Beyond her legal pursuits, Alphyll holds a Guinness World Record for being part of the Largest Indian Cinematic Music Band. She is an avid musician, writer, and fitness enthusiast, with interests ranging from writing poetry to performing music and engaging in working out and various sports activities.
Alphyll is also fluent in English and Hindi.
Monica Torrento – Marketing Director
Monica is a multidisciplinary professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Design, specializing in Digital Marketing. With a passion for photography and a background in various creative fields related to content creation and marketing strategies, She brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to her role as Marketing Director at Innovent Law. While she has worked across diverse industries, her current focus lies in law marketing, where she leverages her expertise to position Innovent Law as a leader in patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
Nate Camuti – IP Litigation Of Counsel
Nate is our go to litigator for all intellectual property matters. Before becoming an attorney, Nate spent ten years managing small businesses, including six years managing a chain of snowboard shops in the Sacramento area. During that time Nate also spent three years as the head coach of the Davis High School snowboard team.
Nate is also an adjunct law professor at Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law where he teaches copyright law and patent law.
In loving memory of Larry Ginsberg
With over 30 years of experience in patent law, Lawrence Ginsberg was an invaluable of counsel to our law firm. Lawrence specialized in intellectual property law, including primarily, patent and trademark application filings, prosecution and related client counseling.
Lawrence had prepared and prosecuted hundreds of U.S. and foreign patent applications. He had represented a variety of clients including individuals and start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.
His experience spanned over various industries such as aerospace, medical devices, cryosurgical systems, orthotic systems, exercise systems, agricultural systems, electrostimulation systems, arthroscopic surgical devices and consumer products. Many of the patents have also been filed in foreign countries and throughout the world.
Along with the U.S. and global patent prosecution, Lawrence had obtained the correlative U.S. and foreign trademarks to complement the business units of his clients.
